Apple updates iMac line with quad-core i5 processors and Thunderbolt I/O

 

Apple updated the iMac line today and has given the all-in-one  consumer desktops quad-core Intel Core i5 processors all around, improved AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR5 memory and 3 times the performance of previous models.

The new iMacs also feature Apple's new Thunderbolt high-speed optical transfer technology which is touted to be 20 times faster than USB 2.0. iMacs come in 21.5 inch models starting at $1,999  for the 2.5Ghz model ($1,499 for the 2.7GHz) and  27 inch models at $1,699 ($1,999 for the 3.1GHz model).
