By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Nokia's Lumia 800 Windows Phone  is coming to Canada and it will be exclusive to Telus. Nokia informed us that the device will be available in on March 2 for  $49.99 on a 36-month contract. The  Nokia Lumia 800 features familiar Nokia elements like unified design, vivid colours, outstanding Carl Zeiss imaging capabilities, and a unique unibody construction.

The Nokia Lumia 800 will be available for $49.99 with a three-year contract. Features include:

  • Head-turning unibody design in vivid colours: cyan, magenta, black
  • Deeply integrated social networking experience through Windows Phone 7.5 Mango; stay in touch across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter right from the People Hub
  • Best Internet browsing experience with Internet Explorer 9
  • 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB program memory, 16GB internal user memory, and up to 9 hours of 3G talktime
  • Access to Microsoft SkyDrive for cloud storage
  • Access to thousands of apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace
  • Leading imaging capabilities with Carl Zeiss optics, pocket-to-picture-to-post in seconds, 8MP camera with autofocus and touch focus capability, dual LED flash, high definition 720p video recording with 30FPS and one touch image sharing

We had a chance to check out the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 last year. We were very impressed with the build quality and the performance of the Lumia 800, it is a premium smartphone and one of the better Windows Phone devices that we've tried.

Glad to see there's something (sorta) new and exciting for Windows Phone in Canada.

Video: Sea Ray/Nokia 800 is Nokia's first Windows Phone handset

Condenamed Sea Ray, the first Nokia Windows Phone device looks like a superb handset. It takes many of the great features of the Nokia N8, X7 and the N9 but uses the latest Windows Phone Mango OS, which could make it the WP7 handset to beat when it is launched on the 26th at Nokia World in London, England. Jolly Good, we say!

Video: Windows Phone Mango Previewed

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

We just came from the X'11 event, Microsoft's big pre-holiday XBox show and had the opportunity to check out the next update to Windows Phone. This one is codenamed Mango and it is sweet, social and smart. Best of all, current Windows Phone owners will be able to update to Mango directly from their PCs without any manufacturer or carrier delay, hindrance or hassle...take that Android! Mango ripens sometime this Fall.
