Motoring: Michelin launches BlackBerry app for truck drivers, Android and iPhone coming soon

Michelin Americas Truck Tires is rolling out a mobile dealer-locator application for Blackberry smart phones used in the U.S. and Canada. As the first truly mobile tire-related application in the trucking industry, the new MICHELIN Blackberry application joins the existing MICHELIN ONCall emergency road service (ERS) and online dealer and service locator in Michelin's "Wherever You Go" offering.

Apple's App Store celebrates 250,000 apps

Apple has recently hit a milestone of selling 250,000 apps in its ever expanding iOS ecosystem. While most of these are iPhone and iPod Touch apps, a growing number are iPad specific. Apple is maintaining a strangehold on the smartphone app market for smartphones and tablet devices. Google's Android OS is second and while it has recently sold more smartphones its selection rings in about 100,000 apps.
