Metallica is reportedly using the data it gets from Spotify to help craft the setlists for their shows. At least, this is what Spotify CEO Daniel Ek claimed during the company’s earning call on Thursday (July 26). Ek said the band would check the listening habits on Spotify of its fans to create a setlist that will cater to fans of the city they’re playing at to add some of the most popular songs in that area. Metallica hasn’t confirmed the report yet. But it wouldn’t come as a surprise if they did. The band seems to be especially attentive to their fans. They even make recordings of live shows so fans can buy the audio files on livemetallica.com.

Carrie Fisher is still part of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

In case you haven’t heard yet, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Pictures have officially announced the cast for Star Wars: Episode IX and one of the names we were waiting to show up is back. The late Carrie Fisher’s name is still attached to General Leia Organa. They will be using previously unreleased footage. J.J. Abrams said, “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

Returning cast members include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd. The new members of the cast include Naomi Ackie (Doctor Who), Richard E. Grant (Gosford Park, Hudson Hawk) and Keri Russell (The Americans). The other veteran Star Wars actors making a return include Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian. The film starts filming at London’s Pinewood Studios on August 1 and this final installment of the Skywalker saga is set to come out in December 2019.

Report: Video game arcades are making a comeback in Toronto

Video game arcades were the preferred hangouts of gamers in the 70's and 80's but were slowly killed off by home gaming consoles as well as the advent of networked gaming and the Internet. A new report finds that gaming arcades are making a comeback in Toronto.

"Toronto is experiencing a full-blown arcade and pinball machine renaissance, fueled by communities of players who share a love for the coin-op experience. Though a trickle of new machines continue to emerge on the scene, retro arcade and pinball machines make up the bulk of today’s “barcades” — the slang term for establishments that serve alcohol alongside retro-gaming goodness," states a report from Zolo.ca.

To celebrate the arcade revival, Zolo News has created 416cade, a map of all public-facing arcade and pinball machines across Greater Toronto. To find out where these pinball and games are at check out their maps here.
