Continuing in the trend of giving restaurant patrons more digital ordering options, Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill is making it even easier for its customers to place an order for pick-up or delivery from one of their 200+ locations across Canada.

After unveiling a new modern restaurant design in late 2017, the brand has launched a new and improved mobile app and has partnered with a number of third-party apps including; navigation app Waze, The Weather Network, and sports team management app TeamSnap. These partnerships will offer all Swiss Chalet customers access to the most convenient and easy-to-use digital ordering technologies.

The partnership with Waze makes Swiss Chalet the first Canadian brand to integrate order-ahead functionality natively in this popular mobile navigation app. The Waze order-ahead feature allows busy customers to order their favourite rotisserie meal before they even begin their daily commute or road trip. Amazon tipped to be trying to add real-time translation to Alexa

Possibly taking its cues from Google Assistant, Amazon is reportedly trying to turn its Alexa voice assistant into a real-time translator. What would be different this time around is that it won’t just translate phrases but also supposedly include local culture into its responses. Amazon is reportedly looking into making this feature available on multiple devices and it’s hoping to translate multiple conversations at once. It isn’t clear though where Amazon’s translation skills will be coming from. But if this is happening, we should hear about it soon enough.

The tech site speculates Instagram might be considering putting this into its Direct Messaging system to put it squarely up against Snapchat. This isn’t the first time this option has been talked about, though.  Support for these features have been spotted in testing last month.
