Rogers reports tremendous excitement for iPhone X and good demand for iPhone 8

Apple's iPhone X went up for pre-orders in Canada earlier today and quickly sold out of existing online stock. Rogers reportedly stated, "tremendous customer excitement" and strong pre-orders for the iPhone X. The carrier also changed its tune on the iPhone 8, which the company says now has good demand. More importantly, it now says overall demand for the iPhone 8 is "good" after initially saying initial demand  for iPhone 8 was 'anemic'.

In an exclusive interview with Axios reporter Ina Fried,  Rogers executive VP Raj Doshi said "we're seeing tremendous customer excitement for iPhone X with strong customer pre-orders."

"We're also seeing good demand for the iPhone 8. We expect the two together will be very popular with our customers this holiday season with iPhone 8 being a major contributor," he added. The uptick in iPhone 8 demand could be a result of the iPhone X's halo effect.

WhatsApp will now let you recall messages you didn’t mean to send

We’ve all sent messages we wish we haven’t and finally WhatsApp is making sure the unintended recipients don’t see the message with its latest update. The Facebook-owned messaging app will let you delete messages for all people within a conversation. Like a lot of messaging apps out there, you can only delete a message for yourself. But now, this “delete for everyone” feature will get rid of the message for everyone. There are a few caveats, though. One is you’ll need to delete the message within seven minutes. After that, you can’t take the message back. Another is that all conversation participants need to have the latest version of WhatsApp to get the feature to work. If you fulfill these requirements, then you’re good to go.

‘HTC U11 Plus’ to get officially launched on November 2nd

The new phone coming out of HTC’s stables is being called the HTC U11 Plus, which seems plausible as it’s seen as the evolution of the HTC U11. And it looks like we’re getting closer and closer to seeing it. HTC teased on Twitter an image showing off the bottom left side of a smartphone with the date “11.02.2017” over it and the words “You’ll believe it all” in the tweet itself. HTC seems to be showing off the nearly bezel-less design to the sides of the device, suggesting we’re also getting an 18:9 display from the Taiwanese company.

Some of the rumoured specs of the HTC U11 Plus include a 5.99-inch 1,440 x 2,880 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage. It’ll supposedly run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and have a sizable 3,930mAh battery. For its cameras, rumour has it that the rear shooter is a 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, while the front has an 8-megapixel camera.

OnePlus 5T might come out on November 16th

A previous rumour had us believing the OnePlus 5T is coming after November 20th but a new one suggests it’s going to be earlier than that. A leaked image from GizChina shows what looks like an invite for OnePlus 5T event happening on November 16th with the sale date erased out. The words “Amazon exclusive” are also seen, suggesting the leak came out of India, where Amazon is the official retailer for OnePlus devices. The image of the phone seen in the photo looks similar to leaks from the past.

It’s been claimed the OnePlus 5T will have an 18:9 display, 20MP + 20MP dual camera setup, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. All of these are up in the air at the moment and with the rumours constantly changing, we’re staying wary and watchful. But all signs point to the phone coming out next month.
