Here’s your behind-the-scenes look at ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

If you weren’t that excited for Star Wars: The Last Jedi a.k.a. Episode VIII, this video might change your mind. It’s a behind-the-scenes look and teaser of sorts for the upcoming Star Wars installment. We don’t get much in terms of what the story might be but as Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, says: “It’s second in the trilogy, [but] it feels like its own thing.” And John Boyega a.k.a. Finn adds in a separate interview that Rian Johnson, director of this film, has made “Star Wars fresh and new.”

And while the audiences will be the judges of that, the new movie will give us more insight into the new and old characters as this BTS promises. We also catch glimpses of Carrie Fisher and it reminds us and saddens us a bit to remember that this’ll be her last time showing up in the epic series. Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theatres on December 15, 2017.

Samsung’s new app lets you live stream your mobile gameplay

If you want more sharing options for your mobile gaming live streams, there’s a new Samsung app you might like. Aptly called Samsung Game Live, the app will let you live stream through different services like Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube. The app lets share the links to these live streams via Twitter, Facebook, or SMS. It’ll even let you use your mic to chat with your friends as you stream. It can save up to 4GB or 200 minutes of gameplay (whichever comes first) but it can stream for longer at lower resolutions. You can save your sessions for later viewing or even sharing at a later date.

It’ll work on Samsung Galaxy devices that run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above and some commenters on Android Police say they’ve gotten it to work on their Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices. The app isn’t on the Play Store yet but Samsung users can get it through Galaxy Apps.

Archive.org has 1950-1976 issues of influential sci-fi magazine ‘Galaxy’

For all the bad things you see online, there are an infinite number of good things, too. Like this latest piece of news that the influential sci-fi magazine Galaxy is now available for free on Archive.org. There are 355 issues that span the years 1950 to 1976 that are available on the site. And the great thing is it comes in a variety of formats, depending on what device you want to read the issues on. Galaxy Science Fiction is known to have published an early version of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, among many other great writers like Isaac Asimov, Clifford Simak, and Rober A. Heinlein. It doesn’t have the complete run of the magazine but there are tons to read through, whether to rediscover favorites or fall in love with old tales for the first time.

YouTube is testing GIF-like video teasers for desktop users

YouTube wants to show you bits and pieces of a video while you’re browsing on the web. The streaming site started testing out video previews a couple of weeks back but they’re now rolling it out to more users. If you hover your pointer over a video, you’ll start to see a three-second teaser of the clip. It supposedly works for videos that are longer than 30 seconds. Not all creators are getting this preview though. According to YouTube, it’ll depend on “topic and content.” You’ll see the previews on the Home page, Search results page, Watch page, Subscriptions tab, and Trending tab on Chrome and Opera.
