Google Tasks now has a toolbar shortcut in Gmail

Google Tasks made a comeback when Google relaunched the Material Theme redesign for Gmail in 2018. Now, it's getting more prominently featured in Gmail through a new "Add to tasks" toolbar shortcut. You can now link an email directly to an activity you need to get done. You can do so by dragging the message to the Gmail sidebar, or you can tap on the new Add to tasks icon between Snooze and Move to actions.

If you're lost about what icon you need to select, it's the circular icon with a checkmark in it and a plus sign at the bottom right corner. You can see it in the image accompanying this story. Google is rolling out the feature now, but it may or may not be available to you yet. It has shown up for my personal Gmail account already. It seems to be rolling out to both personal and G Suite users.
