Apple AirPods expected to get Live Translation with iOS 26

Source: Apple via MacRumors

Live translation might be coming sooner than we think for the Apple AirPods. Images found in iOS 26 beta 6 suggest the feature is soon launching on Apple's wireless earbuds. As seen above, one of the photos shows the picture of AirPods with Hello said in different languages alongside a suggestion to double-press to activate the feature. The file itself was also named Translate, with MacRumors confirming the photo was seen in the files for the Translate app in the latest beta.

iOS 26 is going to bring Live Translation to the Phone and Messages apps and FaceTime, so it doesn't feel like too much of a stretch to see it come to AirPods for in-person translations.

Google will let users customize sources for top stories

Source: Google

It might be easier for you to catch up with the news from your favourite outlets with a new feature coming to Google Search. In markets like the US and India, Google is giving users the option to select their "preferred sources," allowing these publications to be prioritized when Google's top stories appear during a search for a current event. Aside from showing preferred sources, Google is looking to add a new "From your sources" section as well.

We're hoping the feature comes to Canada. And in case it does, you can customize your sources by searching for a timely topic. Tap on the icon beside the Top Stories label and then pick the outlets you read news from. The Verge noted that there aren't limits to how many sources you can add.

Gemini Live starts rolling out Google Calendar, Tasks, Keep apps access

Source: Google

Following its announcement at Google I/O in May, Gemini Live is finally starting to widely launch its integration with Google apps, including Keep, Tasks, and Calendar. Once it starts rolling out, you should be able to create lists, tasks, or events, and inquire if you have any reminders or events.

For our device, so far, only Google Calendar is accessible via Gemini Live, allowing Gemini Live to create and check Calendar events for us. It can't launch the app for us either. Instead, it does the task in the backend, which you can later check when you open the app itself.

iOS 26 will integrate ChatGPT-5 into Apple Intelligence

Source: Apple

You can expect to access OpenAI's newly launched ChatGPT-5 model when iOS 26 rolls out in September. If Apple Intelligence through Siri can't handle specific requests, it will rely on ChatGPT-5 to help out. The new artificial intelligence model offers improved reasoning capabilities and coding tools, alongside enhanced voice interaction and video perception.

In its current form, ChatGPT can be used selectively within Apple Intelligence to handle tasks like document queries, web searches, and Visual Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro and later models. You can use these without an OpenAI account, but you can enable subscription benefits with an OpenAI account.
