Google Assistant now supports smart faucets and bathtubs

Whether you want the feature or not, it is here. Google Assistant can now work with bathtubs and faucets. For tubs, it's a relatively simple list of commands. You can ask these smart tubs to fill or drain for you. But you can't seem to adjust the temperature. Now, for faucets, there appears to be a bit more complication. The tap is presumed to have different "modes" with their settings because of the varied kinds of liquids and presets available. As 9to5Google points out, these modes could point out to temperature control or even water filters in kitchen faucets. 

Smart faucets and tubs are on their way. Brands like Kolher and Delta offer smart versions of their products, so it might not be far off for these devices to get Google Assistant support.

Rogers' and Fido's roaming plans add 10 destinations

You can now use Rogers Roam Like Home and Fido Roam in 10 new destinations. The list includes Cuba, Uganda, Swaziland, Yemen, Mauritius, Rwanda, Benin, Botswana, People’s Republic of Congo, and Western Sahara. The additional countries extend the services' availability in over 180 destinations.

Rogers Like Home lets you use your existing data plan abroad. It costs $7 per day in the US and $12 per day in other international destinations. You will be charged at a maximum of 15 days per billing cycle.

You can now use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with your Android phone

One solution to make it easier to play mobile games on smartphones are external controllers. Android continues to add support for external controllers to make it easier to game on your mobile device. The latest one to get support is the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Technically, you could connect the Pro Controller before because it's a Bluetooth device. But functionality might be hampered. This time, the controllers are correctly mapped—allowing you to game freely. 

To pair your Pro Controller with an Android phone, simply hold the pair button on the back of the controller and then head to the Bluetooth settings on your handset. Right now, some of the games you can use the controller with include Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Minecraft, and Modern Combat 5: eSports FPS.

'Pokémon Go' to introduce two-player live AR option

Pokémon Go will soon be testing a live multiplayer feature that it's calling Buddy Adventure. Based on Niantic's Codename: Neon multiplayer augmented reality tech, the feature lets two different devices create interactive AR objects in the same frame. This means two smartphones, whether it runs on Android or iOS, will be able to see the same objects in the same frame. Using the existing Buddy system, you can pair with a buddy Pokémon and go on adventures with another player. What the experience means isn't clear right now. But the possibility of interacting with someone else's buddy Pokémon is possible. The feature is also cross-platform, so you don't have to worry about using different devices.
