Rumoured PS4 update brings feature like game gifting, trophy progression

With Sony moving towards creating its next gaming platform, it means we’re reaching the tail end of updates for the PlayStation 4. And there might be some features that current users will very much welcome. According to gaming YouTuber Tidux, there are few things coming to the PS4 in a yet-to-be-announced firmware update. These include the ability to buy digital games as gifts, game wish list, time log/stats for all games, trophy progression, and the ability to pin specific trophies you can chase.

Gifting games is already offered on platforms like Steam and the Xbox One. Meanwhile, having a game wish list is strangely available on the PlayStation Store but not on the PS4 just yet. And a time log might be a fun way to track how long you’ve spent playing the games you play. Trophy progression is already available in Xbox, but should be a welcome addition here. It’ll let you see how many percentage is left before you can earn a specific trophy. Sony hasn’t confirmed if this update will be coming, but if it does, it’ll certainly round out features the platform has been missing.

Motorola teases folding Razr phone using concept video

Lenovo’s Motorola hasn’t been shy about the fact that it’s working on its take on the foldable phone using its iconic Razr line. During a recent official media event, the company showed off the new “V4 Motorola Razr” in its folded and unfolded form. Motorola used a concept video by Waqar Khan, which closely resembles the sketches for the patent it received earlier this year. The video shows three colour options for the phone: black, red, and blue. It shows the internal folding screen and a smaller one in front. It gives us a peek at the hinge’s design as well.

We can’t really glean much from the short clip, but with the company actively talking about it, perhaps we’re getting the phone sooner than we think. Motorola’s VP Dan Dery said the company wanted to launch its foldable device “no later” than its rivals. With Samsung’s version pushed back and the Huawei Mate X set for a mid-2019 launch, we might be getting the same timeline as one of these devices.
