Amazon revises Kindle Paperwhite eReader which is now waterproof

Amazon's most popular eReader, the Kindle Paperwhite, receives a welcom upgrade. Featuring a thinner, lighter design, the new and improved Paperwhite is sleeker than ever. On top of its stunning appearance, the Kindle Paperwhite offers twice the storage and is now waterproof, allowing you to read comfortably anywhere – even by the pool, in the bath, or at the beach.

With an IPX8 rating, Kindle Paperwhite will protect against immersion in up to two metres of fresh water for up to 60 minutes.

Microsoft Photos app will soon allow you to switch off Album Notifications

Are you annoyed by the constant notification on your Windows 10 device that a new album has been created in the Microsoft Photos app? Well, you’ll soon be able to display this feature. An update that has arrived to Windows 10 Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview Ring will let users switch off this option. On top of this, the update also brings “miscellaneous improvements to user privacy options” and other bug fixes. Aside from these, some other server-side updates for the app include better start-up performance, More Privacy information links, as well as new start-up information screens that detail the new features like Explore, Tags, and Favorites, among others.

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen passes away at 65

Paul Allen, founder of Microsoft and technology innovator, philantrophist and sports team owner passed away today at age 65 from non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Allen co-founded Microsoft in 1975 with Bill Gates and is credited for having named the company. Hel later left Microsoft because of serious illness but recovered. Allen went on to become a billionaire investor, famously owning teams like the Portland Trailblazers, the Seatle Seahawks, The Seattle Sounders FC. He also made significant cultural investments and founded the Museum of Pop Culture. Allen has granted over $2 billion to philantrophic causes.
