You can now save Instagram live videos

When being able to save live streams was first omitted from the service, Instagram’s product head Kevin Weil says this was to take away pressure from users to live stream since it won’t be kept permanently. Now, it seems Instagram is backtracking and is following in the footsteps of Facebook’s own Live feature and Twitter’s Periscope. Users can now save their live videos. You just need to tap on Save in the upper right corner of the window to save the video. It won’t save anything interaction you’ve had while you were live, though. When your done saving it’ll be saved in your gallery or camera roll but won’t be in the app anymore. The update is coming to version 10.12 of the app on iOS and Android.

Sony debuts new mid-range Xperia L1

Sony has unveiled a new mid-range device that takes design cues from its predecessors. There’s nothing out of the ordinary here. It comes with a 5.5-inch HD display and runs on a MediaTek MT6737T processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with expansion of up to 256GB via microSD, Android 7.0 Nougat, and a 2,620mAh battery. You get a 13-megapixel rear shooter with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Sony includes its Xperia Actions engine into this device, which changes the settings and functionality of the phone depending on your environment. An example is it’ll set the device to “Do not disturb” and lower the display brightness when it’s nighttime. The L1 comes in black, white, and pink for select markets. It’s supposedly coming to some markets in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America by late April. No word on pricing at the moment.
