Facebook experiments with showing highlights of your friends’ status updates

Facebook likes to play around with its News Feed and we don’t all get to see these experiments. One example has been spotted by Mashable. There is a new box roughly the size of an image post with the title “What friends are talking about” showing a few status updates and image previews from some of your friends. They saw the feature show up on an Android device. The section also shows how many comments have been made on that specific update.

While you may or may not be able to see this feature in the future, it seems like Facebook is trying to get you content you might care about more. As big as the social network has gotten, it’s been a bit trickier to get you connected to the people that matter to you.

Huawei and Google might release a new 7-inch tablet

Did you love the Nexus 7 as much as we did? There might be something similar heading our way next month. Tipster Evan Blass a.k.a. @evleaks has revealed there supposedly will be a new 7-inch Android tablet coming out “before the end of the year,” which will be made by Huawei and will come built with 4GB of RAM. There haven’t been that much information about this new tablet but clues such as Huawei taking out a trademark for a “Huawei 7P” earlier in the year might point us to this collaboration happening again. The Nexus 6P was considered a hit among tech journalists. And if the two team up again, we’re hoping they create another stellar device.

Hello Games promises to expand the ‘No Man’s Sky’ universe further

No Man’s Sky has gotten a lot of flak since its release on August 9th. But with all the criticism, the game’s developer Hello Games is constantly churning out patches (four since the game’s release) to smoothen out the experience for the players. Now, Hello Games is also setting its sights forward to a better game. According to a post by the development team, they are focusing now on resolving issues the players have with the game and then they intend to release free updates in the future that will “improve, expand, and build on the No Man’s Sky universe.” Hello Games Managing Director Sean Murray previously said that features like being able to build bases and own giant space freighters will be coming soon. We should expect these new features once the bugs are all patched.

LG introduces premium line of products via an art exhibit at IFA 2016

LG Electronics takes the premium route with its new Signature line. As we look through the product line’s site, we see everything from OLED TVs to refrigerators to air purifiers. And yes, they all look high class. To celebrate these products, LG opted to host an art exhibition at IFA 2016 in Berlin called The Art of Essence. The gallery, which is located at the garden adjacent to LG’s booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin, is curated and built with the help of renowned architects and artists. The art pieces that specifically served as backdrops of the products were done in collaboration with London-based collective Jason Bruges Studio.

As described in a press release describing the exhibit, “Jason Bruges Studio thoughtfully crafted a multisensory and dynamic experience that conveys each LG Signature product’s essence into lighting, movement and sound.” The exhibit is supposed to portray to IFA attendees that this line appeals to the “refined sensibilities of consumers who want the very best out of life.”
