Apple rumoured to be launching a curved iPhone next year

If this new report from the Nikkei Asian Review is anything to go by, we would be seeing a trio of iPhones next year. One of the new phones that might make its debut next year will reportedly be a premium version with a curved display similar to what Samsung has done with its Galaxy edge models. According to a source supposedly familiar with plans of Apple: “There will be a 4.7-inch model, another that will be 5.5 inches, and a premium handset that will be either 5.5 inches or larger equipped with a screen bent on two sides.” Samsung is also said to be supplying the new displays to Apple with this supposed curved version to be sporting an OLED screen. The South Korean tech company is currently the only manufacturer that offers these flexible OLED screens so that checks out.

This premium device was supposed to come out this year but was scrapped. According to Nikkei’s source, there will only be a regular 4.7-inch “iPhone 7” and 5.5-inch “iPhone 7 Plus” with a dual lens camera coming next month when the company is set to release new iPhones.

Sony brings full-capability of the DualShock 4 to the PC and Mac with new accessory

Alongside the announcement of PlayStation Now’s availability on Windows, Sony is introducing a new USB adapter that will bring DualShock4 support to both Windows and OS X. The $29.99 dongle promises to bring “every feature” of the PlayStation 4 gamepad, including full access to “buttons, analog sticks, touch pad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo headset jack,” for as long as these features are available on the game you’re playing. The accessory will start shipping next month.

You can already connect the DualShock 4 to the PC via Bluetooth or by using a USB cable but this allows for easier connection and it gives you access to all the capabilities. However, according to The Verge, you can only connect a single controller to the adapter and you’ll just need to use a USB cable to connect the second controller if you want to add another player into the mix.

Lenovo to preload Microsoft Office, OneDrive, and Skype on some of its devices

Expect to see Motorola smartphones with Microsoft’s software in the future.

Staying true to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s new vision for Microsoft of having as many people use their products as possible, the tech company is partnering with Lenovo to preload its software on some of Lenovo’s and Motorola’s Android phones. We don’t know yet which phones will be carrying Office, OneDrive, and Skype, though, but it’s expected that they’ll be shipping millions of Android devices with Microsoft’s suite in the coming years.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has entered into a patent-cross licensing deal with other brands. But what this means is Microsoft is giving up its right to charge hefty royalties so it could bundle its products and have them more accessible to more people.
