There’s still a ‘Gambit’ movie in the works

We’ve heard of Gambit getting his own movie but that was a while back. Since then, it’s changed hands a number of times but no one quite knows if it was still happening. Apparently, it still is. Producer Simon Kindberg confirmed that the movie is still alive and in the works and they hope to start shooting by spring of next year. According to Comic Book Resources, the reason for the delay was the script and Kindberg felt back in May that it wasn’t ready for filming but it looks like we might finally be getting that new X-Men spinoff soon with Channing Tatum playing the titular character.

Pokémon Go catches all, including your Google account info

News about Pokémon Go has taken over the internet but not all of them is good. A recent discovery by researcher Adam Reeve found that when you sign into the game using your Google account, you give them full access to everything. And it doesn’t even warn you in the sign-in process that you’re doing so (even if that’s what usually happens). It seems to affect both iOS and Android users and what giving full access means is they can do things like read your email, send you email, access your Google Drive documents, see your search and Maps history, view your private photos, etc. It seems to be a major oversight for Niantic Labs and a security risk you might want to look into. For now, what you can do is revoke permissions from this page and you’re signed out. According to The Verge, the app’s functionality isn’t affected. Niantic hasn’t issued a comment on the matter yet.

Land Rover wants to take autonomous vehicles to all terrains

Self-driving car research is moving along on nice, paved roads. But it hasn’t really made any progress off-road. And that’s what Land Rover is working on. They’re working on all-terrain, self-driving technology that will allow the cars to be used on varied surfaces. This technology makes use of cameras, radar, ultrasonic sound, and lidar to sense the terrain their driving on and adapt accordingly. It can even account for low-hanging branches as well as other obstacles that can ruin the ride or put you in danger.

Another feature is allowing cars to be linked together in an “off-road connected convoy” so the cars will share everything from location to things like suspension and wheel positions. If, for example, the lead car gets stuck, then the others can stop or change course to not fall into a similar predicament. There isn’t any specific timeline yet when we’d see these driverless off-road vehicles but we’d love to see them soon..
