Gigantic Samsung Galaxy View tablet gets leaked online

There seems to be a market for extra-large tablets (or perhaps they’re trying to create a demand for it?). Samsung’s entering its own device into the mix with the 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet. The device was recently spotted on Adorama and indicated it was ready for pre-order. It has since been pulled though. Some of the specs for the tablet include a Full HD screen, 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 chip, 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage with memory expansion, and 2.1MP front camera. It doesn’t have a rear camera because really try taking photos with that. It also has a 5,700mAh battery and Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G LTE connectivity. It was listed for US$599. We should wait for the official launch. With a pre-order page up, it should be coming soon.

Facebook makes it easier to message strangers

This might be a boon or a bane for you but an upcoming Facebook Messenger feature will give you access to messages from people you aren’t Facebook friends with. Before, when you get messages from people you aren’t friends with, these messages get relegated to the Other section of your inbox. You also don’t get notifications for these. The new Message Requests feature will have these messages show up on Messenger as a message request. You can read the message and choose to respond to it or not, without the other person knowing. If you use Facebook to network, this might help you out. The feature is rolling out in the coming days.

Mazda plans to bring rotary engine to its new sports car concept

Mazda still plans to use rotary engines and they’re planning on putting in the new concept sports car they’re showing at the ongoing Tokyo Motor show. The new rotary engine is called the SkyActiv-R. It’s a challenge for the brand to have the rotary engine meet modern economy standards. But they seem to be working on that and plan to bring it to a two-seat pure sports car. At the moment, it’s called the RX-Vision. Mazda won’t say when this would come into production. But according to the company’s CEO Masamichi Kogai, he hopes the rotary-powered car won’t be a dream for too long.
