Office 365 subscribers get 1TB storage bump, everyone else gets 15GB for free

Exciting news for Office 365 subscribers, they will soon get up to 1 terabyte of free storage from Microsoft on their OneDrive accounts. Non Office 365 users get a complimentary 15 GB of storage gratis. The additional storage will automatically added to existing Home, Personal, University or Business subscribers starting in July.

"Today, OneDrive and Office are announcing a BIG change to that benefit for consumers, to the tune of 1 TB per user. That’s right–we’re increasing the OneDrive storage allotment included with Office 365 Home, Office 365 Personal, and Office 365 University from 20 GB to 1 TB. That’s a whopping 50 times, or 5,000 percent increase in storage–and it’s going to be here before classes are in session!"

Great way to welcome the summer. Thanks Microsoft!

Job listings show Apple plans to add more language support for Siri

Apple has said at WWDC that iOS users can expect to get new dictation languages for Siri. And we would seem to be getting more with new job listings posted by the company. This could mean they might add Thai, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian into the mix. It has been previously reported that Apple was also working on adding Arabic, Dutch, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian. It’s a good thing that Apple is helping bring Siri to more and more markets.

Around 300,000 sites are still at risk against Heartbleed

Your favorite social networks and other popular services might have already patched the vulnerability caused by the Heartbleed bug but there is still a significant chunk of the internet that is still at risk. According to Robert Graham of Errata Security, there are 309,197 systems that are still at risk at the beginning of May. When Heartbleed was discovered in April, Graham discovered that 615,268 websites were at risk. While there are a large number of sites that have been able to patch the vulnerability, there is still that huge number that may or may not even deal with the issue. Graham refused to name the sites because he doesn’t want to make it easier on hackers to get into these systems.
