Skype video messaging no longer in ‘preview’

Skype just announced that its video messaging feature can now be used freely on its Android, iOS, BlackBerry, and desktop apps.

Video messaging lets you record up to three minutes of video that gets sent immediately to your selected Skype contact or they will receive it when they come back online. Think of it as video voicemail of sorts.

Mailbox for iPad update now supports portrait orientation

Mailbox for iPad received a 1.3.1 update that now allows portrait orientation of the app when previously you could only view and compose email in landscape mode. It is also said that a few unspecified bug fixes were implemented to this free email app.

Fitbit's wearable health monitoring gadgets now available in Canada

Fitbit, the market leader in the fast-growing Connected Health & Fitness category, announced today a national Canadian launch of its best-selling products. For the first time, Fitbit’s wearable health devices, including the popular Fitbit One clip, the newly released Fitbit Flex wristband and its wireless scale will be available at Best Buy Canada, Future Shop and London Drugs stores across the country and online with other major retailers, including Sport Chek joining later this summer.
