Track your dog’s activities with Whistle

We have dog spas and the like to help take care of your furry friends, why not use a made-for-dogs pedometer to keep their fitness in check, too? Whistle is a $99.95 wearable tracking device for dogs that features a metal disc that is attached to a standard collar and is said to run for 10 days on a single charge.

Apple updates Aperture

Apple has released Aperture 3.4.5 to bring unmentioned “stability improvements” as well as addressing different issues involving external memory cards. Some of the fixes include remedying the issue of Aperture shutting down unexpectedly when deleting items from a camera or memory card post-import and allowing memory cards to be ejected correctly when using the Delete Items option after import.

It is a 549MB update available through the Mac App Store or through direct download from Apple’s support site. New users can purchase the prosumer photo editing app for $79.99 here.

Jeep recalls 435,000 vehicles due to airbag software glitch

It's been tough times for Chrysler and Jeep. After a much publicized issue affecting the fuel tanks of  2.7 million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models that could be ruptured in severe rear-end collisions, which the company refused to recall, they have now owned up to a separate airbag software glitch that can delay airbag deployment on 254,000 2010-2012 model year Patriot and Compass vehicles.

Jeep is also recalling 180,000 Jeep Wranglers from model year 2012 and 2013 because of a fluid line leak that can damage the transmission system.

Chrysler said in an official statement it is not aware of any injuries or accidents associated with the recall issues. The begins in July.
