Google to open its own Retail Stores by end of 2013

In an inevitable move, search giant Google has indicated its desire to enter into the commercial retail store space by opening its first store in the UK last year.

A move that many see as the beginning of a series of Google Store openings in the US and Europe. A lot has changed in the past few years and Google now sells a variety of devices such as its Nexus smartphones and tablets, various Chromebook models and even the Chromebox PC and even Nexus Q audio devices. Google is also working on its smart glasses initiative. 9to5Google explains that Google will open a series of stores by the end of 2013 (it is already testing the concept in a fee UK locations called Chromezone stores).

LG's Optimus G Pro's 5.5" smartphone details revealed

LG has revelaed more information on its Optimus G  Pro. The 5.5" device will feature a next generation Snapdragon 600 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz. The big screen behemoth will feature the ability to record video from both the rear-facing and front-facing cameras at once, a  13 megapixel rear camera, a 3,140mAh battery and 2GB of RAM standard. In terms of look and feel, it carries a similar vibe to the Samsung Galaxy Note II sans the SPen. North American availability for the LG Optimus G Pro is slated for Q2 2013.

Adobe pushes HTML5 Web tooling to Creative Cloud users

Adobe  announced the first public preview of Adobe Edge Reflow, a new responsive design tool for Web designers and developers creating websites and content for screens of virtually all sizes. In addition, the company released new feature updates for Adobe Edge Animate, Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Edge Code preview.  All today’s announced product releases are available exclusively to Adobe Creative Cloud members.

Rogers president and CEO Nadir Mohamed stepping down in 2014

Rogers Communications announced that Nadir Mohamed, who serves as president and CEO, will be stepping down in January 14, 2014.

Mohamed, who recently launched the BlackBerry Z10 with Thorsten Heins, has been with Rogers since 2000. Taking the post of president of Rogers Wireless in 2001, Mohamed spearheaded many of Rogers' innovations in mobile as well as the shift to 3G and later on 4G-LTE technologies. Mohamed was appointed to succeed founder Ted Rogers in 2009. He is a communications industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience.

"Nadir is a highly regarded executive who has delivered strong results and substantial value for more than a decade," said Alan Horn, the chairman of the board of Rogers Communications Inc.
