Samsung Canada puts NFC in the service of free music

Near Field Communication (NFC) technology has long been heralded as the key ingredient for the mobile wallet. A feature that would magically enable smartphones to be used as a mode of payment, access and transaction. That's taken a while to happen, specially in Canada. Samsung Canada has decided to put NFC to good use by enabling the download of free music in Toronto’s underground walkway.

Adobe announces major update to Creative Cloud

Adobe revealed a major update to its Adobe Creative Cloud offering over a dozen exclusive new features for Adobe Photoshop.  Creative Cloud now has  more than 1 million free and paid memberships, including approximately 326,000* paid individual members who have signed up through November 2012.

Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon X1 now touch-optimized for Windows 8

Lenovo's ThinkPad Carbon X1 was one of the more impressive (and original looking) Ultrabooks we reviwed in the last year. The sleek, carbon-fibre laced ultralight had a lot of desirable features for a 3 pound, 14-inch notebook but it wasn't touch-enabled, until now. Microsoft to ramp up production of Surface tablets and partner with retail outlets

Microsoft is looking to ramp up its production of the Surface RT tablets  and make them available at additional retailers as soon as mid-December. In addition, the company announced the extension of the Microsoft holiday pop-up stores, including the transition of several of the stores into permanent Microsoft retail outlets.
