Windows boss Steven Sinofski to leave Microsoft

A report for All Things D states that Steven Sinofski, Microsoft's President of Windows and Windows Live Division since July 2009, is leaving the company effective immediately. Sinofski's departure comes suddenly just as he was highly visible in the recent Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 launches, which were high-profile events for Microsoft.

Anyone interested in the latest and greatest Google Nexus smartphone can pre-order the Google Nexus 4 online for $309.00 (8GB) and $359.00 (16GB). Made by LG for Google, the Nexus 4 features a large 4.7" screen. 1280 x786 pixel resolution with 320 pixels per inch). Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 8GB of storage, 8 megapixel camera and Android OS 4.2 Jelly Bean. Google is also selling new Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets as well as a new Chromebook.

BlackBerry 10 to launch on January 30, 2013

We finally have a date for one of the most anticipated smartphone releases. The launch of Research In Motion's BlackBerry 10 OS and devices will be on January 30, 2013. RIM expects to have a sizeable number of apps to get new users up and running. This is very exciting news and I am happy that RIM has committed to a date and is working towards that target. It is evident that BB10 is designed more around work and lifestyle than previous BlackBerry products so it should be interesting to see how RIM meets needs in those areas.

The promise? "BlackBerry 10 will offer a large catalog of the leading applications from across the globe and across all categories, including Games, Productivity, Social, Lifestyle and Leisure, Multimedia and Published Content, as well as applications designed for business and enterprise use." Video: Sony Xperia go gets dunked in water, comes unlocked to Canada

Sony has designed the Xperia go to handle everything life dishes out. They gave it a scratch-resistant display, a battery-save mode for when you’re running late and made sure it had the highest water and dust resistance of any smartphone. This demo shows to smartphone getting dunked in a glass of water. The Xperia go will feature Google Android 4 on a 1 GHz NovaThor U8500 Dual-core Cortex A9, a 5-megapixel camera and 3.5-inch screen. The Xperia go comes to Canada on November 14.
