Apple earns record $3.25b profit, promises amazing new products

Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2010 third quarter ended June 26, 2010. The Company posted record revenue of $15.7 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.25 billion, or $3.51 per diluted share.

Canada to get Netflix video streaming this fall

Canadians will be able to access subscription-based movie streaming service Netflix this fall. Although no announcements of exact subscription price and availability we do know that access to the service is available through some of the newest Internet-enabled HDTV sets. 13 million US customers pay NetFlix $8.99 a month for unlimited video on demand. The service will be available in English with French to follow soon afterwards.

RIM fires back at Apple on 'antennagate' issue

RIM (Research in Motion Ltd.) executives Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie weren't too thrilled at Apple's claims to media that all smartphones, including RIM's BlackBerry devices, suffer from the supposed problem that is affecting some iPhone 4s. 

A statement from the BlackBerry maker declared, "RIM’s customers don’t need to use a case for their BlackBerry smartphone to maintain proper connectivity. Apple clearly made certain design decisions and it should take responsibility for these decisions rather than trying to draw RIM and others into a situation that relates specifically to Apple.”
