Review: Parrot Zik Yellow Gold bluetooth headphones

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

During the course of the year, I get to try and test various headphones and headsets. Some of them come as partners to devices like smartphones and PCs, others are standalone wired on-hear or earbud type headphones as well as wireless bluetooth headphones. Throughout my tests, I realized there is no perfect pair and that it is a process of finding the best solution for my use case with the least compromises.

One model I keep coming back to is Parrot’s Zik smart headphones. Admittedly a premium set of cans with a lot to set it apart from the rest of the gaggle. Specs of the Moto X+1 resurface online

Brazilian retailer Livraria Logos has put up product pages for the Moto X+1 and while there aren’t any images, they do have some features we could expect from the leaked Motorola device. The product pages say it will have a 5.2-inch display, unnamed 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of storage, 2GB of memory, and a 13-megapixel camera. It will run on Android 4.4.4 and will come in black, bamboo, and leather backing. It carries the model name XT1097, which according to benchmarks that surfaced earlier this month it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Wooden backplates are definitely exciting but leather is even more luxurious and really pushes the envelope for smartphone design.

Samsung debuts 3-in-1 micro USB cable

Want to make the most out of a single wall outlet or charger? Samsung has a solution for you: a 3-in-1 micro USB cable. As its name states, the US$40 cable will let you charge three micro USB-powered devices at the same time. This will be a perfect travel companion, we are going to admit. However, you must remember that the split nature of the cables mean power is split evenly between three devices so it will take you longer to charge your gadgets.

Leica introduces new rangefinder camera

Leica might be foregoing its identifiable red brand logo for its new camera but it doesn’t mean they’re scrimping on quality. The new Leica M-P features a 24-megapixel CMOS sensor, Leica Maestro processor, ISO range of 200 – 6400, and a shutter speed of 1/4000s – 60 seconds. It also has the ability to shoot three frames per second until you run out of the internal 2GB of storage and it comes with optional EVF. If you find yourself wanting for storage, you can use an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card. The M-P also comes equipped a mono integrated microphone and an optional stereo mic adapter as well as a sapphire glass-covered 3-inch TFT display. It comes in black and silver chrome and retails for US$7,950.
