Sony bumps up prices of PlayStation 4 in Canada

If you thought you’d get a better deal by waiting to get your Sony PlayStation 4, then you’re in for bitter surprise. Sony will increase the price of the console by $50 to $449.99. Sony told the Financial Post that the price hike is due to “changes in the market environment.” No specifics were mentioned but speculation is due to the weakening Canadian Dollar.

Sony is also bumping up the prices of some accessories and games. The Dualshock 4 controller and PlayStation Camera are going to be bumped up to $64.99 from $59.99. And the games MLB The Show ’14 and Infamous: Second Son will sell for $69.99 instead of $59.99.

Netflix’s ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ series gets international release

Robert Rodriguez’s take on the cult classic From Dusk Till Dawn was released in the US last week on Rodriguez’s El Ray network. International viewers from countries like Canada, The Netherlands, Ireland, UK, and Nordic European territories can exclusively catch the series on Netflix. The 10-episode series will be released on a weekly basis on the streaming service.

Samsung releases slimmer Galaxy S3

In case you’ve forgotten about the Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung wants to remind you of its existence with the more svelte Galaxy S3 Slim. However, this refreshed version of S3 has lower specs than its predecessor. It runs on Android 4.2 with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD). It has a 4.5-inch TFT qHD display, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, and 2100 mAh battery. The only advantage the new S3 has on the original is its slimmer form factor.
