Google Play Store update adds more control over in-app purchases

A New York-based woman recently filed a class-action lawsuit against Google after her child managed to purchase US$70 worth of virtual “crystals” in the game Marvel Run Jump Smash. She claims Google wasn’t clear about the 30 minute window policy that lets users download anything for the half-hour with just one password input. Google answered back by releasing a new update for its Play Store that provides an option for users to enter a password every time an in-app purchase is made. The 30 minute window, however, is still available for those who want to use it.

Warner Bros. to issue refunds for some dissatisfied ‘Veronica Mars’ backers

Despite a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Veronica Mars movie seems to have been plagued by some digital download glitches. A number of the contributors ran into trouble downloading the digital copy of the game from Warner Bros.-owned Flixster service. The issues began with sign up on the Ultraviolet-connected movie site as well as with overloaded servers not functioning properly.

According to Ubergizmo, customer support seems to resolve some of the issues or they will offer a refund to help users purchase the film through channels like iTunes or Amazon.
