YouTube officially debuts Google+-powered commenting system

A new commenting system makes its official debut on streaming video site YouTube. The conversation-style commenting arranges comments based on factors such as people you know, allows for easy moderation through auto-approval and word filters, and allows for private conversations with people in your circle. International roll out of the new system will start soon.

Future Samsung phones to double pixel amount, more flexible displays

Samsung held its Analyst Day recently to talk about future plans for the company. Future smartphones will have 560ppi AMOLED displays, which will have 78 percent more pixels than the current LG G2 if combined with 1440p resolution, and 4K resolution screens for smartphones by the year 2015.

The Korean company foresees more wearable and flexible gadgets will be the next big thing by 2015 or 2016. Also making its debut next year would be a 16-megapixel smartphone camera sensor. New 64-bit customized ARM chips will make an appearance soon as well.

Moneris introduces PAYD PRO mobile payment technology

Moneris Solutions Corporation introduces new technology touted to be the first debit-enabled mobile payment service in the country. PAYD PRO provide sellers capability to receive credit and debit card payments through chip and PIN, contactless technology, or magstripe with the use of a smartphone. The service connects to mobile devices through Bluetooth and the company’s Apple iOS and Google Android apps.

The service also comes with mCommerce management suite that allows merchants to track business from your phone and send receipts through email. PAYD PRO will be available starting February 2014.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 arrives in Canada

The 2014 edition of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 lands on Canadian soil and will be up for sale starting Friday, Nov. 8. The Galaxy Note 10.1 carries over S Pen functionalities from the first 10.1-inch tablet such as Action Memo, Air Command, Pen Window and Scrapbook and comes with 3GB RAM and 8-core Exynos processor.

This Samsung tablet will be available in Class White at Best Buy, Future Shop and other retailers. Those who plan on buying the new Note 10.1 before Nov. 30 will also get three months free streaming music access through Rdio, two-year 50GB storage from Dropbox, $20 Samsung Apps gift card, and two free e-books from the For Dummies book series.
