Apple begins shipping new iPod Touch and iPod nano models

Apple has started shipping the new iPod Touch as well as the iPod nano models revealed last month during the iPhone 5 launch event. All indications point to both these models being in stock in most Apple Stores with supplies increasing into the weekend. The new iPod Touch brings the larger 4-inch Retina Display of the iPhone 5, an improved 5 megapixel iSight camera and a powerful dual-core A5 chip. The new nano resembles a tiny iPod Touch with a 2.5 inch display, the ability to play back video as well as built-in Bluetooth.

Acer kicks the door open with $499 Windows 8 convertible tablets

Acer America announced that the Acer Iconia W510 tablet PC featuring Windows 8 will be available for the U.S. and Canadian markets this November starting at $499. The new tablet PC features a sleek convertible design that can be used in three different modes to make computing more natural and intuitive. Acer's hard push in this space is similar to their aggressive move in the netbook space years ago where they were one of the leading brands in that space.
