Motoring: Is the De Macross GT1 the Canadian supercar?

It is called the De Macross GT1, it reportedly will run on a mid-mounted supercharged 5.8 Liter V8, have a carbon fiber and aluminum chassis, 200 will be made  for sale in 2011 and it will be mostly Canadian built.

De Macross Motor Corp (DMMC) is in the process of building the GT1 which will resemble the Pagani Zonda in price and performance and they expect to start taking orders in early 2011. Canadian engineering and manufacturing firm Multimatic will be providing its F1 dampers and Dynamic Suspension Spooling Valve.

American company Roush Yates Racing Engines, which produces powerplants for Ford's Nascar vehicles will provide the engine although final performance figures have not yet been revealed.

Auto 123.com says that "the fledgling company is said to be headed by South Korean businessman Jahong Hur, 39. He’s the founder and president of H-Plus Group, which specializes in soil decontamination, water supply and alternative energy production, including hydrogen. Hur also serves as chairman of Power Air Corporation, a company based in Coquitlam, BC, working on zinc-air fuel cell development. H-Plus Group will market these fuel cells in Asia once they reach full maturity."
