Teardowns reveal iPhone 6 and 6 Plus battery capacities

In case you’ve been wondering what batteries are powering the new Apple devices, iFixit and Macotakara have taken a look inside the new iPhones. Macotakara said the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is powered by a 1,810mAh battery, which isn’t really a big leap from the 5s’s 1,560mAh battery. It was also discovered that the battery is attached to the chassis using adhesive tabs. Previous iPhones were glued into the chassis.

Meanwhile, iFixit found the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus runs on a 2,915mAh battery, which is a sizable amount. However, you must also consider that it powers a larger display and higher resolution so it definitely needs a bigger battery.
