Samsung shows off One UI Watch for Wear OS

As it does with its smartphones, Samsung will be putting a skin on top of the new Wear OS platform that it is co-developing with Google. This new One UI Watch for Wear OS aims to "make the Galaxy Watch and smartphone experience more deeply connected" and to create "an entirely new Galaxy Watch experience."

Some of the things we can expect from the One UI Watch experience include auto-install of compatible apps from your phone to the watch, different clocks for various cities will be ported to your wrist, and numbers you block on your Galaxy Watch will be blocked on your phone.

Working closer with Google means Samsung gets more access to third-party apps. The new platform will let you access Google Play Store to get apps directly from the app store. This change brings apps like Adidas, GolfBuddy, Calm, and Google's apps like Maps, Messages, and YouTube Music.

Samsung and Google plan to offer a new watch face design tool so Android developers can create a better experience for their users with Wear OS watches.

Samsung plans to unveil a new Galaxy Watch featuring the One UI Watch look and the revamped Wear OS at an Unpacked event later this summer.
