Samsung introduces Freestyle portable projector

Source: Samsung

Samsung wants to make it easier to turn any room or space into a place where you can watch your favourite content. The company introduced a new ultraportable smart TV projector called the Freestyle. It weighs less than 2 pounds, has a 180-degree stand, and allows you to project screen sizes ranging from 30 to 100 inches.

The Freestyle has a 1080p resolution and auto-focus and auto-levelling capabilities, aligning the image to the surface you're projecting on. It can also play music with the help of its 360-degree sound. This projector is powered by Samsung's smart TV platform, allowing you to access your favourite streaming apps.

Samsung will also be offering different accessories to work with the Freestyle. It gets a lens cap for creating mood lighting, a waterproof case for outdoor use, and a USB-C portable battery for outlet-free projecting. If you want to attach it to a light bulb socket, there will be a base for that, too.

Samsung hasn't shared some critical details about the Freestyle. It didn't specify if it comes with an internal battery or its brightness levels. But we know the projector itself costs US$899 (around CA$1,143 converted), and it's available for pre-order in the US on Samsung's website. If it seems too pricey for you, the Samsung Freestyle is marketed under its Lifestyle brand, where it offers its more premium, ambitious products like The Frame and Terrace TVs.
