Adobe launches new versions of Photoshop and Premiere Elements with AI and more

Adobe

Adobe has launched the new versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements for 2024. These products have many new features that make the creative process easier and faster, thanks to artificial intelligence. But AI is not the only thing that photo and video editors can enjoy in these new versions.

However, let’s start with the AI features. These functionalities are powered by Adobe’s Sensei AI platform. There is a new tool in Photoshop that automatically selects and edits objects and backgrounds, similar to Google’s Pixel Magic Eraser, but more advanced.

You can use this tool to change the sky in your photos, which is useful for creating dramatic scenes. The AI tools also let you smooth a subject's skin and apply smart fixes automatically. Moreover, Photoshop Elements 2024 uses AI to create Artistic Effects, which transform your images into artistic masterpieces.

Adobe’s Sensei AI also helps you enhance JPEGs by removing artifacts and making them look smoother and more natural. This gives you more power over this file type, which is usually not the best for editing.

Premiere now uses AI to create highlight reels from your footage automatically. Adobe says these AI-generated clips will attract viewers by focusing on motion, close-ups and your best shots.

Of course, many other features are not related to AI. Photoshop has new colour and tone presets, photo reels that can be saved as MP4s or GIFs, new one-click editing options, and a new look. There is also a feature called Guided Edits, which teaches you how to do things step by step.

Meanwhile, Premiere has new audio effects, like reverb, and new presets to create different moods. Like Photoshop, it also has a new design and Guided Edits. You can buy both software suites separately or together.
