Humane AI Pin to ship in March

Humane, the company behind the screen-less wearable device that aims to replace smartphones, announced on Friday that it will start shipping its AI Pin in March. The company posted on X (Twitter) that priority orders will be the first to receive the device At launch, the AI Pin was originally given an early 2024 release.

The AI Pin is a US$699 (around CA$921) device that projects relevant information onto the user’s hand and responds to voice commands. It boasts a privacy-centric design and a contextual intelligence system that connects the user to an artificial intelligence service or experience. Humane has partnered with OpenAI, Microsoft, and Tidal to offer access to some of the "most powerful AI models and platforms."

The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor with a Qualcomm AI Engine and runs on Humane’s own Cosmos OS software. It comes in three colours: Eclipse (matte black on black), Lunar (polished chrome on white), and Equinox (polished chrome on black). The latter two cost an extra US$100 (~CA$132). Users also need to pay US$24 (~CA$32) per month for cellular data, which is provided by T-Mobile’s network.

Humane said that the remaining orders would be shipped in the order they were placed. It's unclear what the estimated delivery dates for existing orders are. The Humane AI Pin is still available for pre-order on Humane’s website.
