JBL Authentics 500, 300, 200: Retro style meets modern features

JBL Authentics 500 (JBL)

JBL Authentics is a new line of wireless speakers that combines retro style with modern features. You can stream music from various sources via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. You can also switch between Amazon Alexa and Google voice assistants, both integrated into the speakers. This is a unique feature that lets you use both assistants for different tasks at the same time.

The JBL One app lets you control the speakers, browse through music services, and customize your sound. You can also play music in multiple rooms with AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Chromecast, and Alexa Multi-Room Music.

The JBL Authentics 500, 300, and 200 have a premium look and feel, with an aluminum frame, a leather-wrapped enclosure, and a Quadrex grille inspired by the classic JBL L100 speaker. They are only available in black.

These speakers are also eco-friendly—made from recycled fabric, plastic, and aluminum. The packaging is FSC-certified and printed with soy ink.

The JBL Authentics speakers are designed to compete with other high-end wireless speakers like Sonos’ Era and Denon’s Home series. They will be available on September 15 in some markets.

JBL Authentics 500

The JBL Authentics 500 is a powerful speaker that delivers stunning sound with Dolby Atmos technology. This speaker lets you enjoy 3D audio that surrounds you with realistic sound effects and details. Whether you place it in your living room, bedroom, or kitchen, the JBL Authentics 500 can adapt its sound to suit any space.

The speaker has a sleek design and a solid build, featuring three 1-inch tweeters, three 2.75-inch midrange woofers, and a 6.5-inch downfiring woofer. These drivers produce clear and balanced sound across the frequency range, with deep and punchy bass. You can easily stream your favourite music from various sources, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Ethernet.

The JBL Authentics 500 is a premium speaker that offers an amazing sound experience for €629.99 (around CA$920).

JBL Authentics 300

The JBL Authentics 300 is a portable speaker that lets you enjoy music anywhere in your home or outdoors. It has a handle and an 8-hour battery life, so you can move it around easily and play music for hours. However, it is not waterproof, so you should avoid getting it wet.

The speaker can also stream music wirelessly via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or use voice control to access Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It has a pair of 1-inch tweeters, a full-range 5-inch woofer, and a 6-inch downfiring passive radiator to deliver clear and balanced sound. However, unlike the Authentics 500, it does not support Dolby Atmos audio, which means you will miss out on the immersive 3D sound experience.

JBL Authentics 300 (JBL)

The JBL Authentics 300 is a great speaker for €429.99 (~CA$628).

JBL Authentics 200

The JBL Authentics 200 is a compact and budget-friendly speaker that offers many of the same features as the larger models. You can stream music wirelessly via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or use voice control to access Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also play music in multiple rooms and enjoy the automatic self-tuning that optimizes the sound for any room.

The Authentics 200 needs to be plugged into the mains, so it is not as portable as the Authentics 300. It also does not have a handle, so you will need to carry it carefully. However, it still delivers a clear, balanced, and powerful sound with stereo sound. It has the same speaker setup as the Authentics 300, with two tweeters, a woofer, and a passive radiator.
