YouTube Music gets personal with new Activity feed

Since early 2024, YouTube Music has been ramping up notifications, and now they're taking it a step further with a dedicated "Activity" feed in the mobile app. Look for a new bell icon next to the search bar. Tapping it reveals a feed of recently released music from artists you follow, conveniently organized by "This Week" and "Earlier."

This is a welcome improvement over the generic Explore tab, offering a personalized way to stay on top of your favourite artists' new releases. It also addresses a longstanding pain point: the inability to revisit dismissed YouTube Music notifications.

Overall, the Activity Feed brings YouTube Music closer to its big brother, the YouTube app, in functionality and user experience.
