Google will let users customize sources for top stories

It might be easier for you to catch up with the news from your favourite outlets with a new feature coming to Google Search. In markets like the US and India, Google is giving users the option to select their "preferred sources," allowing these publications to be prioritized when Google's top stories appear during a search for a current event. Aside from showing preferred sources, Google is looking to add a new "From your sources" section as well.
We're hoping the feature comes to Canada. And in case it does, you can customize your sources by searching for a timely topic. Tap on the icon beside the Top Stories label and then pick the outlets you read news from. The Verge noted that there aren't limits to how many sources you can add.
