Oura considers expansion into smart glasses, CEO says

Oura is looking to broaden its health technology reach, at least according to Oura CEO Tom Hale. The executive spoke to Forbes at Web Summit Qatar about the smart ring company's plans to expand its sources of future data collection points to grow its platform.

Hale mentioned the possibility of developing smart glasses, noting a "big advantage" of face-mounted wearables, including seeing what you're seeing. So, it can observe things like the meals you eat. As Forbes noted, smart glasses also touch the ears, which are considered sensitive spots for capturing activity data.

While Oura concentrates on its smart ring business in the near term, we won't be blindsided if the wearable tech maker decides to pivot its strategy in that direction.
