Just announced! Ontario artists are in the lead in this year's Samsung True North Tunes. Within the Top 100 longlist, there are now 64 emerging artists from the province selected to move forward in the national music discovery program. Artists are from a variety of genres and cities including Mississauga, St. Catharines, London, Kitchener and several others.
Local talent moving forward includes artists such as Achanté and Holly Clausius from Toronto, Aiyana and Rebelle from Ottawa, Mikalyn and SHEBAD from Guelph, and Elfrida and Fast Brake from Hamilton.

Through True North Tunes, the top 100 selected artists will gain national exposure through featured placement on the True North Tunes platform, alongside curated playlist inclusion and promotional support and mentorship to help grow their audience. From there, they will have a chance to unlock live performance opportunities at Collective Arts spaces across Canada and in-depth mentorship. The program will continue to build momentum throughout the summer, with a Top 20 announcement (via public voting) on August 12. Then, another announcement of the Top 3 artists on October 1.
True North Tunes was created to give emerging Canadian musicians a platform to share their original music, reach new audiences, and connect with fans across the country. Earlier this year, Canadian musicians were invited to submit their entry into the competition free of charge.
