Samsung tipped to launch Tile-like tracker

Samsung might have a new smart tracker in the works that's reminiscent of Tile's tracker. Called the Galaxy Smart Tag with a model number EI-T5300, it was spotted being certified by the Indonesian Telecom Certification. Samsung last launched an LTE-enabled tracker under its SmartThings branding around two years ago.

SamMobile speculates that this new device might feature more connectivity features like Ultra-Wideband, LTE, and GPS since the last tracker only had LTE and GPS. It will be a useful piece of tech if Samsung plans to launch the device. And since it's being certified, we might see it soon. Will you consider getting one?

Universal Studios Japan's Super Nintendo Land to open on Feb. 4, 2021

Travelling right now might be challenging, but that doesn't mean we can't dream about destinations we hope to visit. One of them is the "life-size, living video game" theme park, a.k.a. Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan (USJ). The attraction will open on February 4 in Osaka, which is earlier than the spring 2021 launch that Universal and Nintendo announced.

To excite potential visitors, USJ gives a sneak peek at its main attraction: the Mario Kart rollercoaster. The ride is set inside Bowser's castle, and it uses augmented reality and projection-mapping tech. Each rider will wear Mario's signature cap, which serves as their AR headset. And while the ride itself is on rails, each car gets steering wheels. The AR tech it uses lets visitors "compete" against each other. And to gain an advantage, visitors can collect virtual coins via a wristband while they roam the park with a Switch console.

Shazam gives away five free months of Apple Music to new subscribers

Source: icybbams/Twitter

Apple-owned music discovery app Shazam is once again offering potential subscribers free access to Apple Music. Unlike last year's six-month free offer, this time, Shazam and Apple Music are giving away five free months for new users. You will be eligible for the promo if you haven't used the streaming service before.

All you need to do is download Shazam on your iPhone or iPad (if you haven't yet) and then identify a song by tapping on the Shazam icon within the app. Once it identifies the track, there will be an option to play the song on Apple Music. Tap that and a banner letting you know you'll get an extra two-month subscription to Apple Music if you redeem the offer. (Apple Music's trial period is valid for three months.)

9to5Mac reports that some users also spotted a banner for the offer in Shazam's settings. The deal isn't available in a lot of countries. According to Shazam's App Store page, it's available in countries like the United States, Australia, Canada, and more until January 17, 2021.

So, if you're interested in checking out Apple Music, this is the best deal available yet.

New Samsung Galaxy S21 leak shows different colour options

Source: Ice Universe/Twitter

There have been rumours about the colour variants of the upcoming Samsung flagship. Now, new renders of the device have been teased on social media by prolific leaker Ice Universe. They posted on Twitter that the Galaxy S21's design is "unique and deserves praise." Whether you agree or not, the rumoured flagship handset features a new design aesthetic for the series, with the rear camera module blending into the phone's housing. It gets rid of the usually unsightly camera bump.

The renders show the Galaxy S21 in the predicted colorways: Phantom White, Gray, Violet, and Pink. There's also a Black unit, but this is reportedly available in the higher-end models of the S21.
