Canon PowerShot Zoom lets you appreciate nature up close

When was the last time you bought a compact camera? Canon knows it's been a while since you even considered getting one, so it's trying a new approach with its latest device. The new PowerShot Zoom is described as a "compact telephoto monocular" that looks more like a golf rangefinder than a camera or camcorder. Aside from being a camera, Canon describes it as a viewer for "hiking, birdwatching, and nature gazing."

It has a compact form factor, so don't expect it to have top-of-the-line specs. It can take 12-megapixel photos and record 1080p video with a 100-3200 ISO range saved to a microSD card. It has a relatively small 1/3-inch sensor with an f/5.6-6.3 lens, supporting 100mm or 400mm focal lengths and a digital zoom of up to 800mm.

These are the new iPhone 12 accessories

Source: Apple

Apple unveiled new cases and a new wireless charger to pair with the new iPhone 12 series. The smartphone cases for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are marked as "New," but you can't add them to cart yet. There's the Silicone Case that comes in eight colours and the Clear Case. Both support MagSafe and retail for $69. The cases for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are still marked as coming soon, but those are priced the same as the other smartphone cases.

If you just want the Leather Wallet to attach to the iPhone's back, that retails for $79. The MagSafe charger goes for $55. Using the MagSafe charger will be the only way to get 15W fast wireless charging on the new iPhones. But it does still support any Qi-compatible chargers, but your charging speeds will be down to 7.5W.

'League of Legends: Wild Rift' to come to iOS, take advantage of new iPhone 12

There is no official release date yet for League of Legends: Wild Rift. But Riot Games came on during Apple's iPhone 12 event to talk about the title coming to iOS later this year, specifically how it'll take advantage of the new phones. This mobile adaptation of the popular MOBA title arrives when Fortnite is no longer available on iOS due to legal issues between Apple and its developer Epic Games. Perhaps Riot Games and Apple are taking a chance to boost their profiles a bit (whether they need to or not is another conversation).

We don't know yet if Wild Rift will be playable on other iOS devices, but we understand it'll take advantage of the new A14 Bionic chip on the iPhone 12 as well as 5G connectivity for promised "fast speeds." The closed beta of the game is now available for Android, and it's now possible to sign up for the iOS beta.

Apple introduces flagship iPhone 12 Pro, Pro Max

Source: Apple

If flagship devices are more your speed, Apple has also introduced the new iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max alongside the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. It also has that squared-off design, which marks the handset's first significant redesign since the bezel-less iPhone X was introduced in 2017.

Both phones are bigger than the previous generation Pro smartphones, with the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max being the biggest Apple iPhone to date. But there's still no 120Hz support here, unfortunately. Unlike the aluminum build of the iPhone 12, both come in a stainless steel design available in grey, stainless steel, gold, and blue.
