Louis Vuitton’s newest smartwatch packs in the latest Snapdragon Wear processor

Louis Vuitton updates its premium smartwatch with new internals. The new LV Tambour Horizon packs in the newest Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, which Qualcomm developed with Google for Wear OS. One of the major things this brings to the smartwatch is better battery life, giving users one full day and up to five more days if they’re just displaying time. It also has a better display and a new 24-hour ring with a day/night indicator across the ring. Its rich ambient mode can display things like time and information such as heart rate or step count while making sure it uses less power than the watch would if it was fully active. The LV Tambour Horizon also has a new white ceramic option. No word on pricing or availability just yet but with the old version going for US$2,490, you can expect this to come with an exorbitant price tag.

Global version of the Huawei P10 gets Android Pie update

Changelog of the EMUI 9.0 update for the P10

Not all manufacturers update previous generation smartphones with the latest version of Android. The older the phone gets, the less assurance you get that it’s going to get updated. We just got word that Android 9.0-based EMUI 9.0 is hitting the two-year-old international edition of the Huawei P10. So, if you have one of these, you might expect the update to head your way. What would be missing though is the GPU Turbo 2.0 update. This is supposed to bring higher frame rates and reduced input latency to a selection of games, which include NBA 2K18, Arena of Valor, Vainglory, and Rules of Survival.

Essential Phone ends its run as stock depletes

Less than two years in the market, the smartphone that kicked off thin bezels and notches is nbearing its end of life as stock depletes. This means that you won't be able to buy new Essential Phones, nor would you really want to invest in what is essentially a discontinued product.

The Essential Phone is far from obsolete. The company continues to make updates available and might do so for one year. Essential's focus is no longer on this device but on whatever smart home hub they are planning on making. Essential Phone was a remarkable device and this writer's daily carry until an update negated the SIM unlock feature. I doubt we will see the likes of the Essential Phone PH-1 again.

Microsoft revamps user interface for its Windows 10 Camera

Maybe you still use your Windows 10 machine to take photos. If you do, you’re getting a new interface. The new version moves the hamburger menu to the left, while the menu to take photos, videos, and panorama is moved to the right and now has elements of fluent design. There’s a new Pro Mode you can turn on or off as well. On top of that there are new “corrections and improvements.” This app version is currently being tested by Windows 10 Insiders on the Fast and Skip Ahead Rings.
