Could ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ possibly make its way to VR?

There might be a possibility of this happening, if hints inside the companion app are to be believed. Rockstar Games fan site Rockstar Intel found inside the files for the app multiple parameters that hint the game could make its way to the PC and possibly virtual reality (Oculus, specifically). While this discovery doesn’t necessarily translate to the game making its way to these platforms, it does suggest that Rockstar Games might be considering bringing the game to VR. With Red Dead Redemption 2 being one of the Rockstar’s games to have full first-person support, it won’t be to difficult to imagine the game as a VR game.

IBM acquires open source software maker Red Hat for $35 billion

Considered to be the largest acquisition of a software company, IBM has just bought open source and Linux pioneering company Red Hat for US $35 billion. This deal will result in a merger propels IBM as an enterprise cloud computing provider. Now facing off against Amazon's AWS and Microsoft's Azure Cloud, IBM says that its services will allow more businesses to shift their operations online, and that the proprietary nature of existing cloud systems means that it’s harder to move and secure data from system to system.

Red Hat president and CEO Jim Whitehurst sharedthe following, "we have barely scratched the surface of the opportunity that is ahead of us. Open source is the future of enterprise IT. We believe our total addressable market to be $73 billion by 2021. If software is eating the world - and with digital transformation occurring across industries, it truly is - open source is the key ingredient. Powered by IBM, we can dramatically scale and accelerate what we are doing today. Imagine Red Hat with greater resources to grow into the opportunity ahead of us."

OnePlus starts rolling out Project Treble support for 5 and 5T smartphones

Promised earlier in the year, OnePlus is finally bringing support for Project Treble for both the OnePlus 5 and 5T. This software update (OxygenOS 5.1.6) is rolling out in stages and should be making its way to all devices in the coming days. Project Treble is a feature made by Google to make it easier for manufacturers to develop and release software upgrades to supported devices. The feature separates the framework of Android operating system from the system images of the chipset vendor, allowing Google to distribute OS upgrades without waiting for these chipset manufacturers to modify their system images.

Aside from bringing Project Treble support, OnePlus is also bringing in the October 2018 Android Security Patch, which fixes vulnerabilities found in the Android OS, and an instability fix for the Bluetooth connection on the phones. For the Indian carrier IDEA, the 5 and 5T also get VoLTE service support.
