Apple fires engineer after daughter’s hands-on video of the iPhone X goes viral

While the iPhone X is already available for pre-order, the phone is technically not out of the market yet and that has gotten one of the company’s engineers in trouble. A YouTube vlogger named Brooke Amelia Peterson posted a now taken down video of her hands-on with the iPhone X. She got her hands on the phone courtesy of her father who works as an engineer in the tech giant. The video was shot inside Apple’s cafeteria and understandably blew up on YouTube and ended up on the streaming site’s top trending videos list. And that unfortunately led to her dad getting fired from the company. In the video above, Peterson talks about what happened and she says at one point, “Apple let him go. At the end of the day, when you work for Apple, it doesn’t matter how good of a person you are. If you break a rule, they just have no tolerance.” She says she has no bitterness towards the company and she understands that they had to do what they had to do.

Review: Miele Blizzard CX1 Hardfloor PowerLine

By Sonya Davidson

It's hard to believe that it was 90 years ago when Miele introduced their first vacuum. This year, the company introduced the newest model to their roster with their first bagless vacuum line. We had first set our eyes on the Miele Blizzard CX1 at the Interior Design Show in Toronto earlier this year. The Miele Show Haus was the largest booth by far at this year's consumer and trade show leading the way with several unveils.

It's easy to understand, and support, the thinking behind this new model. The bagless feature is a great selling point in the market for it's convenience. No more running around searching for vacuum bags, obviously, but also the clear view makes it easier to see when it's time to empty. Or, if you're like me and can't stand the site of my long hair captured in the vessel, you'll empty more frequently!

Apple gives MacBook some love with new leather sleeves

Apple's 12-inch Retina MacBook may not get a lot of mention but it still remains one of the most impressive products in the Mac roster as a full-featured notebook Mac with the most portable form factor. Apple just a released some tasty new leather sleeves to help protect the sleek laptop. Available in Midnight Blue and Saddle Brown, the Leather Sleeve,  "is crafted from high-quality French leather with a soft microfibre lining. The unique style of the sleeve allows you to charge your 12-inch MacBook while keeping it protected," Apple's store website says.

Seeing as my MacBook is my go-to travel computer (and I do see a lot of them in airport lounges and in planes), a bespoke leather case might just be the best companion for this notebook. Price in Canada is $179.00.
