Review: Tile Pro Sport smart tracker

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

As someone who often misplaces my car and house keys as well as my smartphone, the ability to quickly find these specially when I'm running late for a meeting is priceless. I've tried some bluetooth trackers in the past, but found them to be kludgy and hard to use. This was because the hardware wasn't durable enough or the apps were lacking in functionality.

The Tile system has always intrigued me and I immediately put the Tile Pro Sport to good use the day I got my review unit. I was cleaning my apartment and moving boxes and misplaced my house keys just as I needed to rush out for some errands. Usually it would take a good 10-15 minutes for me to retrace my steps and find my keys but thanks to the Tile app, I was able to trigger the alarm and quickly find my keys (they were under my cat) by following the melodic alert sound.

Square makes it easier to give customer feedback with new feature

A new tool coming to Square is making it easier for local Canadian businesses to interact with their customers after a sale to help resolve any issues that might have arisen from a transaction. Aptly called Square Feedback, businesses can get customer feedback through their digital receipt. If you make a purchase through a Square retailer, you will be prompted to receive their receipt via email or text. Right from the receipt, there is a question that asks “How was your experience?” You can select the smiley face and say satisfied or the frowny face and express your dissatisfaction with the experience. You can then elaborate about what went wrong. Sellers will receive your complaint and if you opted to get a response from the seller, the seller can respond to you directly via the Square Dashboard and ask any follow-up questions or clear up any misunderstanding or issue.

Sellers can manage customer feedback right from the Square Dashboard. It’s a free tool and part of Square’s latest Point of Sale app. Instead of having to take your grievances to social media, this new Square tool will help solve your problems immediately and help the sellers improve their service at the same time, too.

Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro gets unveiled ahead of Note 8 launch

All the attention is on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 right now, but the company unveiled its new wearable online just hours before the Unpacked event. Called the Gear Fit2 Pro, the new wearable sports a 1.5-inch 216 x 432px curved Super AMOLED display, and comes with 4GB built-in memory, GPS, and 200mAh battery. It’s powered by Samsung’s Tizen OS. And since it’s an activity tracker, it is waterproof for up to 50 meters and can identify the kind of activity you’re doing and record that. No word yet on pricing or availability but according to GSMArena, earlier reports suggest it’ll have a US$199.99 (CA$250) price tag.
