Nikon Canada hosts Night Photography tutorial at Mississauga HQ

Ever wanted to learn how to do those stunning night landscape shots or even just to learn to light paint? Nikon Canada is hosting a Night Photography tutorial with its Product & Training Specialist Chris Ogonek. Happening on July 12, Thursday at Nikon Canada’s Mississauga headquarters from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the class will tackle things like composition, camera settings to capture those star trails, as well as the complete list of gear needed for night photography. Ancestry.ca reveals Canada's diverse 'DN-eh'

For Canada's 150th, Ancentry, the world's largest consumer DNA database, has revealed the results to answer the question "So, what Canadians are made of?" The study of more than 70,000 Canadians maps out the genetic make-up of the country.

According to the results, the average Canadian is more continental European (46%) than British, Irish or Scottish (43%), and this European DNA mix includes Western European (France/Germany) representing 16.6 per cent of the average Canadian’s DNA while Scandinavia and Eastern European (a region including Poland, Ukraine and Croatia) each represent 8.5 per cent. The average Canadian has 24 per cent Great Britain DNA and 19 per cent Ireland/Scotland/Wales.

Experiencing the LG Signature OLED W7 4K TV

They had me at wallpaper.  I had heard that LG had introduce this insanely thin TV into the marketplace and I had to see it for my own eyes. Where are the wires? How do you install this monster of a TV on the wall? At a whopping 65-inch (or 77-inch) it makes me nervous. The LG Signature W7 OLED TV is not for the faint of heart in many ways. 

LG sent over an invite to their Canadian HQ to experience what this TV has to offer. They had mentioned that after the briefing highlights on the new TV, I would have time to do whatever I choose. Netflix? Gaming? Sure...er, how about both!

2017 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Challenge announces winning schools

Samsung Canada announce the final four regional winners in its Solve for Tomorrow Challenge -- a STEM based initiative to encourage Canadian students the areas of the science, technology, engineering and math. Each of the four schools will receive $20,000 in Samsung technology. They will also participate in an exclusive event this summer with Solve for Tomorrow Ambassador, Canadian rocket-scientist, Forbes '30 under 30' and a member of a Canadian contingent working on the European Space Agency's ExoMars Rover, Natalie Panek.
