What our tech lovin' mommy friends want for Mother's Day

Ask any mom (myself included) what we want for Mother's Day. We will tell you that we'd like to stay out of the kitchen (especially the cleaning up part) and we'd really just like some time to do something we enjoy doing like reading, sleeping in, do something creative, watching movies, time to take care of ourselves without interruption by someone asking what's for lunch? Where are my soccer socks? or is the laundry done yet? We love you all but seriously, just a few hours of peace is bliss. 

So, when we asked some of our tech lovin' mommy friends what would be on their gift lists, it came to no surprise that their ideas tie right into our collective desire for "me time" and of course, the kids can shower us with all the hugs and kisses too!

60dB audio streaming app gets updated for iOS and Android

The 60dB app, which curates various podcasts and audio shows now features the new design, personalized playlists are front-and-center. They feature timely, shorter stories, but unlike radio, they're on-demand and tailored to your unique interests. You'll also find new episodes from your favorite followed shows. Now, listening to a playlist or the latest episode from a show you love is only a tap away. This update is available for iOS via the App Store, and for Android via our new beta app at the Google Play Store.

Whirlpool hopes to make meal planning an easier affair with Yummly acquisition

Whirlpool wants to make your kitchen an even smarter place with its latest announcement. The kitchen and home appliance maker is set to acquire Yummly, a digital platform for personalized recipes and other cooking resources. The deal is expected to be finalized sometime this month and Yummly will serve as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Whirlpool. What the sale could bring to the table for Whirlpool is help simplify meal planning for its users, among other things.

According to Brett Dibkey, vice president of Integrated Business Units for Whirlpool Corporation, “Yummly brings an outstanding platform on which to begin building our digital product offering.” Kitchen appliances aren’t as smart as some of our other gadgets so we definitely welcome tech improvements.

Wonder Woman preps for battle in final movie trailer

With less than a month away from the big screen debut of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. and DC are treating us to one last trailer for the film. We get to see Gal Gadot’s Diana make the transition from being a Themysciran Princess to the badass superhero we all know. The teaser also shows us how Wonder Woman is having a bit of a tough time adjusting to the polite customs of the early 1900s. We have high hopes for them film and we’re hoping DC and Warner will be able to redeem themselves with this film. Wonder Woman is set to come out on June 2^nd.
