Pixel file transfer issues with Mac due to old Android File Transfer software

In computer years, 2012 seems so ancient. And that’s partly the reason why Android File Transfer on Mac is causing some problems. The version running there is still from four years back. But aside from the dated software, a big issue with the program is it doesn’t have proper USB Type-C support. Some files it can copy, but not all. It makes sense if you think how a four-year-old program won’t have USB Type-C support as that didn’t exist then. Android Authority also seems to be pointing out the cable itself. Hopefully, Google pays better attention to this software and help make lives easier for Mac users with Pixel phones. An alternative app Android Authority suggests is Handshaker. This will supposedly work with both the Pixel phone and its accompanying cable.

Windows 10 to introduce a high-performance Game Mode

Microsoft has been boasting a lot of the gaming features coming to the Creators Update, including built-in Beam livestreaming, Xbox Live updates, enhanced Guide feature, among others. One new thing that’ll be coming to the Insider preview set to come out this week is the new Game Mode. Not much is known about this feature and it won’t be fully functional yet but the gist of what it does is it’ll fine-tune your PC to speed up gaming performance. This mode should work for both legacy Windows games and modern titles. Beyond that not much is known but Microsoft said more details about the new mode should be out soon.

Android creator plans to build AI-centered smartphone

Android maker Andy Rubin has been out of Google for over two years already but it looks like he’s kept busy and is planning to re-enter the segment he left. Rumour has it Rubin is planning to launch a company that’ll produce a high-end smartphone that will focus on artificial intelligence and have a bezel-free screen and ceramic back. The company, which will be called Essential, has been registered by Rubin as “Essential Products Inc.” in California back in November 2015. The word “Essential” has also been submitted at the end of last year to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with smartphones, tablets, and mobile OS software as part of the outfit’s goods and services. The company is supposedly composed of around 40 people with a lot of them recruited from both Apple and Google.
