Oscar-winning actor Benicio Del Toro isn’t one to shy away from genre films. He’s recently appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy and is working on the new Star Wars Episode VIII. This time his name is being attached to an upcoming sequel/reboot of The Predator. The film is helmed by Shane Black, who co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original 1987 movie, and is based on a script written by Fred Dekker. There isn’t any word yet what role Del Toro will play in the film but this should be something to watch for when the movie is set to come out on February 9, 2018.

The big Sony PlayStation 4 update to land on September 13

There are a lot of new things heading the way of the PlayStation 4. Sony has confirmed the significant update will be coming to users on September 13. In the company’s newest blog post, Sony has detailed more of what to expect with the latest update. As a refresher, these include high dynamic range video support, redesigned Quick Menu, and home screen folders. The new Quick Menu also allows you to control Spotify music without heading into the app. You’ll be able to select what music you want to have on while playing. The What’s New and content information screens both have simpler interfaces and show improved at-a-glance views of what’s happening.

If you get a PlayStation 4 Pro, you get things like 1080p Remote Play and Share Play streaming, 1080p Twitch live broadcasts, and 1080p YouTube live broadcasting up to 60 frames per second. Those who want to transfer data from one PS4 to another can do so via a wired LAN connection. This should make it easier and faster to transfer games, user info, and saved data. If you’d rather stay wireless, you also have that option, too.

Twitch introduces closed captions for its live shows

Twitch is helping out deaf and hard of hearing viewers catch what’s happening during its live broadcasts with new closed captions included into the videos. And it isn’t even using speech-to-text software to possibly butcher sentences. Twitch has hired professional stenographers to type out the captions on the fly for things like their weekly show that airs every Friday, TwitchCon 2016 events, and Kappa Theater panels.

If you’re a content creator on Twitch, you won’t have access to the professionals but you can provide captioned content. The details are here in Twitch’s Help Center.
